Jaime Lerner has been dabbling in web since 1995, when she was beta-testing for the just-emerging online service AOL. Since then, Jaime has worked on numerous websites and expanded her skills to include various programming/scripting languages, as well as delving into Flash and other multimedia and graphics programs, utilities and plug-ins.
In addition, she has worked with databases since 1992 when she wrote her first database software programs and subsequently sold them to various radio stations around the country. She continues using and implementing database designs and backends in her online work as part of
her fluency in all aspects of "LAMP" - Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. She enjoys setting up and administrating Linux webservers from scratch and also specializes in database email marketing.
Jaime's background is actually in radio, however. She started as an on-air announcer when she was just 16, and was a successful and award-winning disc-jockey for much of her over 20 years in the radio industry. At one point she was listed as one of the top 100 disc jockeys in the U.S. and has been a successful freelance voice talent. On top of this, Jaime has held the positions of Music Director, Assistant Program Director, and Program Director in radio markets such as Orlando, Houston, Denver, and Chicago. Her radio industry skills include Programming, Management, Marketing and Promotion of major and medium market radio stations. In fact, her career in web began in Chicago where she launched the Internet and Web department for the Bonneville Chicago Radio Group and at one time was overseeing both the Chicago and Phoenix markets for Bonneville web. She held this position for over 5 years before leaving to start up her own free-lance company.
Jaime spends her spare time volunteering at the world-renowned Field Museum of Natural History, specializing in Egyptology, where she can better her skills in reading and writing ancient hieroglyphs.
